a tune i wrote for Roger Bucknall MBE of Fylde Guitars, Penrith. my father introduced me to Fylde, and a lot of his favourite guitarists played at least one, Archie Fisher being one that i remember from my youth, Nick Jones another. Sandy bought an Oberon and gets on well with Roger. it took a while for me to develop a relationship with Roger, i was just a young man when I got my first guitar, “Alexander I”, and I did what any workie does with his tools and i used it. it developed me as a player though…i hold my Alexander solely responsible for how my style as an accompanist developed. it gained some bashes, bumps, scratches and scrapes, Roger’s shake of the head gradually lessened each time i visited. he understands what i’m up to now and allows me the odd “hazard of the trade” - i’m not a patch on Edward Tudor-Pole…yet.

the Fylde family is vast and varied but i hold some of my Fylde contemporaries as dear dear friends and all thanks to good ol’ Rog who brought us together by making the finest guitars i’ve ever known. i own three (Alexander I, Alexander II & T-Dawg) and have another two on order (a Baritone and a Falstaff). #Fylde-4-Lyfe
